Open mouth insert foot....

Okay Tika jump in on this one. Read carefully. This is a script....
Coworker: wow...you have a pouch?
Me: huh?
Coworker: you have put on some pounds, huh?
Me: what?
Coworker: are you in the motherly way?
Me: (angry face:(
Coworker: well, you look good with the extra pounds...how much are we talking?
The bubble over my head grew....filled with all kinds of words that I could have said ...but I walk away...taking all of my extra pounds with me.....LOL

Question: How would you have reacted? What do you say when coworkers say personal things that may impact your self-image?

First to respond! Well to me, coming from a sort of "to them self person" I don't consort much with people I don't consider to be friends. If it is strickly a co-worker then I would let them know I don't appreciate it, if it bothered me that much. Now if it were a co-worker/friend then that bubble would probably have burst that was growing over your had and I would have let the contents fall on them. But its all in how you take it and how they relate to you. I do have a smart mouth so I don't know I can imagine some carefully placed remarks, thats just coming from me.

My comment. . . . I don't talk about that extra eye at the top of your forehead, the damper that comes over the room when you enter, or your new friend on the repeat offender website. . . . So just lay off of me!!!! LOL LOL LOL "Couldn't resist"

OKAY... First of all about time i am responding. WOOOW! I think I at this present time in my life would have told them to "mind your own damn business and worry about your own weight cause I have a good workout plan." In my bubble I WOULD BE THINKING you need to invest time at the gym damn yourself. People these days think they can say what they want to and others are suppose to accept it....well we do not even have to listen to the negativity.

Kim I agree with you...hit them where it hurts....themselves.

Been there done that. I would have said "You should have seen me two weeks ago"! Then I would have said maybe we can get together and so shopping sometime because obviously you don't have any mirrors in your house.
