How many minutes a day do you spend talking with your child?

On a radio show yesterday they stated that research shows the average father talks with his children seven minutes a day and the average mother talks with her children thirty minutes a day. The radio host stated that this is quality conversation....not the "stop, sit down, stop fighting" that we shout through the house:) My question to you is....How many minutes do you spend talking with your children? If it is lower than you want it to be, what are you going to do to change it? If it is higher than the average...let us know your secrets and strategies on increasing the minutes.

Talking is awesome. That communication factor is number one. I try to spend some time talking, but probably not as much as I should about the things I need to. Thanks for the bump on the head. One child hardly talks and the other one talks a hole in your head. . . . .Trying to find a balance!!!! LOL

I do not know if babble is a considered a means of conversation but as I talk with my 3 year old and ask her what does she want to be when she get older her reply was: "a Doctor".( I think because one of us goes to the doctor like every month lol ) My 1 year old just smiled. I do not do it as often as I should but as they get older I will keep this post in mind. YA'LL POST QUESTIONS FOR PEOPLE WITH YOUNG KIDS!!!!! HA HA HA.. . . But you can start talking as early as you can. Communication goes a long way. Talk your babble and turn it into REAL TALK! Love ya.

Well my children are very young some would even call them babys but my oldest who is three doesn't like that title so she says to call her a big girl, but I talk to my children all day long and some may say that is an exageration but it is the truth ALL DAY. We talk about dogs, cats, bikes, gran gran, big daddy and tae tae. Not to mention every thing to comes to there little growing minds, its surprising how much they know even at such a young age.

Okay. . What do you do when your kid just doesn't think you're "cool enough" . . . Yeah, what do you do when you're the nerd and everyone else's mom is just "TOO COOL"??????

I talk to my kids enough!! Enough is finding out what happened during the time we have been apart. Then it is ME, ME, ME!! I don't believe any adult is constantly chit chatting with a teenager or young kids. LIES!! Just LIES!!
