Giving Season or Break down season?

Please someone help me with this question. I have worked over 40 hours a week. Only to go shopping on the off hours for secrect santa presents, family presents,.....All of this shopping happens in between the parties you have to attend. After that the list continues...the nurse from your child's school calls, you get sick(but can't stop moving or take off a day), someone calls about another party(that you can't turn down or their feelings will be hurt), your child adds a last minute object to his santa list(more shopping), your boss ask you to get there early, you have to pay bills, you have to wrap presents, you have to pack(if you are going out of town), you have to buy groceries for this big dinner, ....yes, and then you still aren't done....
So I ask of you brave and smart people....which season is it?:)

Which way is up?

Today is just the second day of school for the students and I am looking for a way out:) In this country of wealth, why isn't any of it spent on the future of education. Yeah, I know...no child left behind...blah, blah, blah....let's face it....some ARE getting left behind...while being pushed up to the next grade level. It is draining to work in an inner city school and have a front row seat during this train wreck we call education. Question - If you have 30 students in middle school class, how many computers should the teacher have in the class? This is 2007. I challenge you all to take a tour of an inner city school and answer the question again. I will step down from my soap box.... one last thing...if you have children, make sure you are proactive in obtaining a quality education for them. With all this said...Which way is up?

Rush, Rush, Hurry, Hurry

Oh, how I long for the slow days, relaxing on my deck with a cool drink in my hand while reading a book about a far, romantic island....ugh...bring back the summer. My mind is still in "chill" mode, but my schedule is in "hurry up and get there" mode. For example, tommorrow...open house for one child from 3-5pm, open house for the other child 5-7pm, and open house for me 6:30-8pm. Yes, I know...how can I do it all? I don't know. On top of that, we have been in meetings, so my classroom looks a "hot mess". Can someone please tell me why the school system scheduled all of these open houses on the same day? I think "they" have it out for me:) Anyone else out there with a schedule that continues to grow even when the number of hours in the day doesn't?

Help!

How do you remain positive in the midst of negative people? It is draining. Are any of you working or living (ha, ha) in an environment that is full of negative people? How are you dealing with it? I need to find some strategies to be able to survive in a negative group. Right now I am using music as a way out.

Two steps forward, three steps back

I worked out for two days. Yea, Me! Don't clap just yet. Then, I couldn't seem to find the time to workout for three days and counting. Boo, Me! I know. I can jump right back on the horse but what if I just want the body that comes with being on the horse. I don't want to do the work that comes with riding the horse.....Encouragement, I will take it:) Someone told me I could have flat abs by September. Stop laughing...and Yes, I believed him. See the crazy things that love makes you believe:)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMBER!

15 YEARS AGO WE WELCOMED A BABY GIRL INTO THIS WORLD....YEAH, I AM A DRAMA MAMA:) BUT MY BABY IS 15 YEARS OLD TODAY. PLEASE HELP ME IN CELEBRATING THIS DAY. MOST OF OUR FAMILY IS NOT IN THE SAME STATE, SO IF YOU WOULD LEAVE A KIND BIRTHDAY MESSAGE...IT WILL BE APPRECIATED.
AND HEY, LET HER KNOW WHAT IS WAS LIKE TO BE 15 IN YOUR DAY...IF YOU CAN REMEMBER BACK THAT FAR....LOL

Back from Vacation

Refreshed, Renewed and Relaxed. You may ask..where did I go? My deck:) I took the summer off to enjoy the small things. What do you do that doesn't cost a lot of money but brings you joy?

Less than twenty days left in this school year and even that sounds like a long time:)

Operation Stay Put!

Thank you for all of the support during our time of need. The operation is complete.
We have a long road of recovery ahead of us. Faith, prayer and love will guide us through
this. Only prayer will help my husband stay in place and not move his leg for several weeks.
Ladies, I know you understand the pain of trying to get a "man" to follow doctor's orders and
not move. Shoot, I have a better chance winning the lottery....anybody know any good numbers? :)

Still Got Game?

If you are on the way to church and your tire goes flat....you may ask yourself..."what else could go wrong?"..I asked myself that question and received a loud answer-
Answer number one -You look into the trunk only to find another flat tire....LOL Yes, that is how my Sunday began spending several hours in firestone car care center.
Another answer....you go to a basketball game to support your husband...and he gets hurt. You spend hours in the emergency room....only to be told that he will need surgery.
All of this in one day....
Moral to the story....Don't ask yourself questions...because life will answer.....LOL

Everyone sing with me. I would tell you how old B is going to be, but I have to live with him:) Please help me in wishing him many more years to come. April 19th is the big day. Now, I am off to buy a gift that will fit in my budget. Any suggestions? Don't bother saying socks, that was Christmas..LOL

Back in Business

Yes! It has been six months since I have been able to update this blog. Wow, time is faster than any train. Thank you to my one devoted blogger. I have faith that the number will grow.
